The Division of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) of the North Dakota Department of Health administers state and federal programs designed to improve the health and safety of North Dakota families, MCH provides funding, technical assistance, training, needs assessment, educational materials and other resources to local health departments and other private and public entities who offer health services in North Dakota.

As parents, it is our responsibility to our children enstill the importance of taking care of their bodies and appreciate the gift of our body gives us day after day.Some are obvious, and some can be neglected. Take a look at the list below and see what you can include in your child’s education to keep themselves healthy.

Health Information Council Child # 1: Cover your mouth!

To prevent germs floating around, it is important to cover your mouth when yawning coughing, sneezing, or even. Teach your child to cover the mouth and be healthier.

Kids Health Information Tip # 2: Wash your hands!

Wash your hands after using the toilet is something we all know. But what about other times? Teach your child to wash their hands after the following events: sneezing or coughing, playing in the playground before and after meals or other activities where the hands are about the potential germs.

Kids Health Information Tip # 3: Brush and floss!

Brushing is important. So if you floss! Make sure your child has good care of their teeth, wash at least twice a day and floss every night before bedtime.
